The popular comedy series “30 Rock” proved to be a hit at the 2009 Primetime Emmy Awards last night, after scooping up a few awards of the night. According to reports from canada.com, the NBC show won the award, for Best Comedy Series.
And it didn’t just stop at one award for the night either. Alec Baldwin, who won last year’s Best Comedy Actor award, picked up his second consecutive Emmy, with the award for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy, for his role as Jack Donaghy in “30 Rock.”

The series also added an Emmy Award for the Best Comedy Writing. And although its other star Tina Fey, was nominated for the Best Comedy Actress, she was actually beaten by Toni Collette, for her role in the comedy series “United States of Tara.”
