Mackenzie Phillips on Oprah: 31-year-old secret

American chat show host Oprah Winfrey, is certainly pulling out all the stops on her show this season. First of all she managed to get an interview with diva Whitney Houston and now it appears, that she has an interview with Mackenzie Phillips lined up.

And according to reports from rightcelebrity.com, Mackenzie, who is the daughter of John Phillips from The Mamas and The Papas, is about to release a new book “High on Arrival,” and is on the Oprah Winfrey show to promote the new book.

But it doesn’t just stop with the book promotion. Apparently, Mackenzie is all set to reveal a 31-year old family secret on Oprah’s show and her family members are not too happy about it. The interview will be airing on Wednesday 23rd September.

    Back in late 70′s early 80′s she used to use a Beverly Hills phone service and i was dating an operator we used to listen in her phone conversations and hear her ordering drugs.

    Son of Lorne Michaels of SNL was often her contact.

    Used to listen to other stars also, back in that time it was no big deal about privacy.

    I am so glad that Mackenzie went to rehab and is clean and sober. It sounds like this program she did really had her confront a lot of her co-occurring conditions related to drug abuse….so that is fantastic. And that she is talking about it helps her and others struggling with similar issues. She is a Good role model for us old teens working with new teens today to handle life! Recovery is possible and Rehab does work.
