Rush Limbaugh on Jay Leno: Al Gore will not be laughing

Limbaugh, the most listened to talk radio host in the nation, appeared on the Jay Leno show. He came out in a un tucked, blue shirt and showed off his new slimmer look, however even though the radio star went down a storm it’s unlikely that Al Gore will be laughing.

Gore became the unwitting butt of a Limbaugh joke, when the radio host ran down a cardboard cut out of the former vice president. Rush was supposed to avoid the cut out, as he drove a new electric Ford Focus. Leno had mentioned to avoid it but then said, he will get extra points if in fact the radio star hit it. However, Limbaugh got more laughs when he reversed the electric car back over gore on the Green Challenge road course.

The audience appeared to side more with Rush than Leno when it came to current affairs. The chat was more of a debate, with both guys trading points on the political issues of the day. Limbaugh rakes in close to $50 million annually three times more than Leno’s reportedly $16 million a year.

No, it was humor! Al Gore would have done the same thing.

I think Rush Limbaugh made some very strong points. He is arrogant but what he says makes complete sense.

  2. Matt says:

Complete sense? Does it make complete sense to lay all of the blame for the sub-prime mortgage crisis on Dodd, Frank, and Clinton when the kinds of mortgages that were so problematic weren’t even LEGAL until Reagan made them legal? Does it make complete sense to say that Social Security and Medicare are bankrupt when they are not? Does it make complete sense to believe that the market is some kind of magical, mystical, always good force when we’ve clearly witnessed major market failures. It’s not like we don’t know why markets are good things. There are lots of mathematical reasons that markets are good things… IF all the condition of free markets are met. When those conditions are not met, markets work less well, if at all. But I suppose that type of stuff is too complicated for most Rush listeners to think about. Also, as for government programs that have “worked” pretty well in an awful lot of cases… the military, police, roads, sewers, public education (plenty of public schools are more than fine, thank you), disability insurance, etc., etc., etc. Lastly, Rush actually said that Bush kept us safe. Last time I checked, 9/11 happened while Bush was president.

  3. Mark says:

Come now, Matt. 9/11 was in 2001, in Bush’s first year before the safeguards the Bush administration created were brought into being. We were safe through the rest of his term–over 7 years. Try taking a course in logic–or maybe recent history. Good grief.

  4. Gary Bailey says:

Rush should be on national TV more offten, Maybe then the folks who only watch 30 to 60 varity shows will perhaps get to see and hear the truth about what is going on in this once fine country. If more people would listen to him we can take this country back from the uninformed and uneducated.

  5. Dave Franklin says:

Loved Rush’s appearance. Although he should have run over Al Gore a few more times for good measure.

As for the liberals who think Medicare and Social Security aren’t bankrupt…wake up! This country is trillions…..in the red. The Congress used IOUs from medicare and SS to fund the general fund. We are so much in the red that at some point in the future, we will have to cut back on benefits for medicare and SS. Anyone who thinks we aren’t bankrupt is totally ignoring the facts!

Maybe they should listen to Rush….he is the most informed, intelligent, and honest journalist in the country.

  6. Karen says:

Actually Matt,a yearlong study by the Annenberg School for Communication showed talk radio listeners are mostly college educated and are the most informed on the issues.
