Some sad news to report now, as Lucy Vodden, the inspiration behind Beatles classic ‘ Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds’ has died aged 46. Lucy had been suffering from the autoimmune disease lupus for a number of years.
As reported from the Wall Street Journal, Lucy Vodden became a household name in 1966 after John Lennon’s son Julian drew a picture of Lucy in nursery school. Julian took the picture home to his famous Dad, stating “That’s Lucy in the sky with diamonds,”
