Actress Teri Hatcher, who is best known for playing Susan Mayer in the popular comedy-drama series “Desperate Housewives,” was doing her bit for charity on Saturday, by holding her very own Hollywood-style garage sale.
According to reports from people.com, Teri hosted her first garage sale on Saturday, at her home in Studio City. And the actress managed to raise an impressive $20,000 for a selection of charities in Los Angeles in the process.

Guests who were invited, apparently paid $50 to enter and browse through the items on sale, which included Disney Hotel packages, Coach purses and boots that had been signed by her Housewives” co-star Eva Longoria Parker.
The proceeds from the day are said to be going to Casa Pacifica Centers for Children and Families, Westside Food Bank and Aviva Family and Children’s Services. Teri says she now can’t wait until her next one.
