NASCAR’s Joey Logano Accident Caused By CoT?

The 2009 AAA 400 NASCAR event took place on Sunday, at the Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware. And it was within this race, that Joey Logano managed to crash, barrel-rolling his car down the embankment 7 times in the process.

According to reports from stockcarspin.com, it was half way through the 32nd lap, with 43 cars on the track. Then on the backstretch, a bottleneck occurred in the middle of the pack. That is when Joey Logano’s car got knocked sideways, into the turn 3 grass.

NASCAR’s Joey Logano Accident Caused By CoT?

But the good thing was, Logano got out of his car and he was alright. What we could ask now, is what actually caused the crash? It was said that the reason why Logano came out of it unscathed, was because of NASCAR’s Car of Tomorrow.

Although, there could be another question on people’s minds, could this crash have been caused by the car itself? The car could well have flipped because it was top-heavy. Did any of you watch the event and see the accident happen?

I was glad to see Joey climb out ok. I think that Tony Stewart should not be allowed to race again. He seems to think that it’s ok to wreck any other driver. He has done this for years and nascar does nothing.

    dave = Troll

Watch the video and you will see the 96 come down on the 20 car of Lagano. When he lifts off the throttle Stewart has no time to react. No ones fault is part of racing.

What would be gained by wrecking him?

I did see the wreck, and I was so happy to see Joey walk away. It was a very scarey crash, and I hope he doesnt have to go through another one like it.

Dave are you that big of a idiot to really think that. I am not a Tony lover by any means but it was clear that it was a case of drives checking up. Get a clue dude or mabey get your eyes checked. Joey got his big crash cherry popped now he can move forward and win some races.

Thank God Joey you walked away from this crash… Mom and Dad.. you can have your hearts back now…. Becarefull Joey not to have this happen again.. God Bless

Someone obviously doesn’t know anything about racing. Joey walked away from that crash because the COT protected him. That accident would have happened with any other car. Didn’t you see that type of thing with the old style cars??? Why are you blaming Tony Stewart? It was the 96 that came down on Joey. Tony couldn’t do anything. People shouldn’t make stupid comments when they don’t know what really happened.

Tony Stewart had no time to react, its what you call\”one of those racing deals\”.As far as the crash itself, the car rolled because as it hit the wall, the speed it was carrying caused it to come off the ground just as Reed Sorenson hit it.Elliot Sadler suffered a similar wreck at Bristol a few years ago in the old car they used before the COT.It wasn\’t the design of the car that caused it to roll,it was the fact that they are going 180 MPH around a 1 mile oval, which is why the cars are built as strong as they are,and why NASCAR racing is awesome.

Dave, I agree you must have had your eyes closed during the crash and the replays.
It was one of those racing deals, just be glad like the rest of us that Joey is doing ok. Be sides if you really want to pick on a driver lets choose Kyle Bush.

  • Penny

Ok, first off were any of you there??? I was and saw it live. As much as I do not care for smoke, it wasn’t his fault. watch the race re-broadcast on wednesday on speed, and you will see who actually caused the wreck, and ya, welcome to racing, that’s what happens.

  • Darren

Grass? what grass? there is no grass at Dover!! put any two drivers in the same situation and you will get the same result… THATS RACING !!!!

  • Kenny

Dave I agree with everybody else. GET A CLUE DUDE! The wreck was clearly just part of racing. Tony did not see the 96 car come down into Joey. If you have ever raced in any devison you would understand what it is like to have no time to react.
