Following on from our recent story that Roman Polanski had been arrested over rape claims, it has been reported that he had not been arrested earlier. The Telegraph has also said that two sources have said that it was his lawyers who were to blame for the arrest.
His lawyers could have sparked the sudden activity by prosecutors, as they had said that the Los Angeles district attorney’s office had never thought to have him extradited. They argued that they did not want the hassle with dealing with the allegations of prosecution and judicial misconduct in original handling.
The recent claim then allowed the district attorney’s office to look again at the arrest of Roman Polanski. They had learned that the director was to attend the film festival in Zurich. France and Poland have been calling for Polanski to be released on bail.
