John Travolta got to testify today over the fact that a Bahamas paramedic, Tarino Lightbourne, tried to blackmail him by threatening to suggest that the movie star had something to do with the death of Jett, his 16-year-old son. We reported in an earlier post that Travolta’s attorney, Michael McDermott allowed a meeting with Pleasant Bridgewater, who is the other man on trial for extortion.
According to sources, the movie star said that Lightbourne tried to extort $25 million from him. Travolta told the jury that Lightbourne said that if he did not pay he would then use a consent document that he had signed, which refused to send his son Jett to hospital.

Travolta said, “They were stories that would imply that the death of my son was intentional and I was culpable in some way.” This is now the second week that Travolta has been testifying. While testifying last week, the movie star said that he did sign the document, as he wanted his son flown to Florida so that he could receive treatment.
