Episode 3 of “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” aired last night and it appears that the gang had their income cut off, so they now have to face poverty. And according to avclub.com, Frank tried to hang himself in last night’s episode, titled “The Great Recession.”
And last night, the gang suddenly realized that Paddy’s doesn’t actually generate any profit for them. The gang have been left to fend for themselves now, since Frank’s loss of income means he can’t bail them out at the bar anymore, so Mac and Dennis decide to fire Dee.

Then Frank and Dee decided to start their own business, to apparently reclaim his millions. They even went to the extreme, of sub-letting their apartments. And it turns out that Frank’s plan to make a bit f money, was to sell steak knives and vacuum cleaners.
