Following on from our article this morning that Michael Vick had just signed a new deal with Nike, it seems that our sources had gotten their facts wrong. We have since learned that Nike has not signed a new deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, this is according to spokesman KeJuan Wilkins.
Nike decided to dump Vick back in 2007 and subsequently pulled all its endorsed products with him from retail stores. This was following him being found guilty of running a dogfighting ring, something he did jail time for.

According to USA Today, it was Mike Principe, Michael Vick’s agent that announced that his client had signed a new deal with Nike. The sports clothing giant had this to say, “Nike does not have a contractual relationship with Michael Vick. We have agreed to supply product to Michael Vick as we do a number of athletes who are not under contract with Nike.”
I bet that Vick’s agent wish he never opened his mouth now.
