David Letterman Affair: Hypocrisy and Workplace

David Letterman, the talk show host’s revelation that he had relationships with female employees, has started discussion about hypocrisy and sex in the workplace. David Letterman has used plenty of sex scandal stories on celebrities for laughs.

Letterman has been focusing on his role as the victim of an extortionist, who demanded $2 million to keep the details of his affairs secret, the episode sparked impassioned discussion on Friday about sex in the workplace and hypocrisy.

For years David has been mocking other public figures for their sexual misdemeanors, Letterman, 62, is now facing scrutiny for behavior that is bannished in many workplaces. Michelle Malkin commentator on Fox & Friends said “There is irony here, It’s hard not to have a smidge of schadenfreude for somebody who’s shown contempt for women in public.”

On the positive side for Letterman that is, his shows ratings have gone up since this scandal broke. Preliminary ratings for Letterman’s Thursday show were up 22% over his average for the year. To read more on his story go to latimes.com.

Letterman is fine; he never was the “Family Values” type. Yes, he probably cheated on his girlfriend now wife. But at least he does go around claiming he is Mr. “Family Values” like some of our politicians (can you just see the grin on all Fake News reports/commentators). This has been a tough summer, for Dave, for our economy but at least he did not end up on the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Stanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC).

  3. I am not laughing at your misfortune, but you might remember this, WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND. By that I mean, you used Sarah Palin’s daughter as fodder for your jokes, sick jokes, when you were, as you say, sleeping with the women on your TV show at the same time. Sarah Palin’s daughter, the older one that got pregnant out of wedlock, has taken this and used it to lecture other teenagers that getting pregnant ou of wedlock is not the way to go. Are you going to go around to adults and school them on not sleeping around!!!!! Be careful who you laugh at, that old slobbering dog can end up on your porch steps.

Letterman was doing what Levi Johnston was doing, except that Bristol Palin got pregnant. He never was the “Family Values” type like Sarah Palin, but don’t let the facts get in the way.
