Recent reports from latimes.com have just revealed, that director Roman Polanski had apparently agreed to pay at least $500,000, to the victim of his child-sex case, as part of a civil settlement in the lawsuit against him.
But it is unsure as to whether he paid it or not, as the documents leave that question open. Although changes in her approach to Roman in the years after, suggest that they may have resolved the issue between them.

Back in 1997, the victim Samantha Geimer, wrote a letter to a judge that was in support of Polanski returning to the United States. She also wrote, that she thought that the 42 days he had already served was excessive.
Geimer has apparently acknowledged reaching a civil settlement with Polanski, although the complete terms of the 1993 agreement still remain unknown. The case file doesn’t really reveal, how the issue was resolved.
