SYTYCD Season 6: Let’s Talk Nigel Lythgoe

With season 6 of “So You Think You Can Dance” well underway now, we will take a look at some of the people behind the show, such as the host, the choreographers and the judges. And this time, it is judge Nigel Lythgoe.

Some people might not know, but Nigel worked as a choreographer, for most of the 1970’s and 1980’s and according to buddytv.com, he worked with some very well known names such as Shirley Bassey and Gene Kelly.

But he became more famous around the year 2000, when he decided to bring the show “Popstars” to the UK. The reality TV show only lasted two seasons, with the second giving us the hugely popular girl band, Girls Aloud.

Nigel, who has apparently been classed as the original nasty judge before Simon Cowell, then became executive producer for “American Idol” until 2008, when he started concentrating on “So You Think You Can Dance.”
