Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker Begin Presidents Cup

The Presidents Cup begins today, with this year’s tournament being held at the Harding Park Golf Club. And it looks like Japanese golfer Ryo Ishikawa, faces a daunting debut in today’s play, as he’s up against Tiger Woods.
According to AFP, Ishikawa, who at the age of 18 is the youngest player in Cup history, is said to be teaming up with 2006 US Open champion Geoff Oglivy, to face up against America’s Tiger Woods and Steve Stricker.
International team captain Greg Norman, said he hopes Oglivy’s experience and consistency, would be of benefit to Ishikawa. Oglivy jumped at the chance to team up with Ryo, who has won 4 Japan Tour events since June.
But they definitely have a daunting day ahead of them, being up against America’s big guns. Especially with Woods winning six times on the US Tour this season, and Steve winning 3 times on the US tour this year as well.
