The golf world is waiting on tenterhooks today, for the International Olympic Committee’s decision, to see if they have definitely been confirmed as an Olympic sport, and whether they have been included in the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro.
According to thaindian.com, the IOC’s executive board decided and even voted in favor, of golf and rugby to be included in the games line-up. But their recommendation has apparently got to be notified and stamped, by all 106 IOC members.

Gilbert Felli, who is the International Olympic Committee’s executive director of Olympic Games, said “We don’t have any demonstration sports anymore, so we don’t see either golf or rugby as being demonstration sports in London.
