The new Paramount horror movie “Paranormal Activity,” which has been dubbed the new “Blair Witch Project,” managed to make it to number 5 at the US box office this week, despite the fact that the movie was made with a very low budget of $11,000.
According to mns.co.uk, “Paranormal Activity,” which was shot with a camcorder and has unknown stars and crew, debuted at the weekend, to $7.1 million in sales. This came as quite a surprise, considering it was only shown in around 160 screens.

And it now looks like the low-budget movie is due for release in the UK soon as well. According to reports from dailymail.co.uk, “Paranormal Activity,” which was directed and written by Oren Peli, is due to open in British cinemas on November 27th.
