Thousands of Boyzone fans were left shocked and devastated yesterday, when news broke of Stephen Gately’s death. Many fans were left wondering, how the singer, who was only 33-years old, could have died just like that.
And according to reports from news.sky.com, Stephen’s family are insisting that his death was just a tragic accident. It has now been revealed, that the star had apparently been partying with friends for several hours before his death.
Reports from The Sun newspaper, had claimed that Gately had been drinking for up to eight hours before he died on Saturday afternoon, but a lawyer that’s working for Stephen’s family, has dismissed those claims completely.
A British expat Kate Whillock, who lives nearby to where Gately was staying, said that she had met Stephen twice, and says she’d never really see him out partying. A post mortem is expected to take place in Spain this week.
