Blu-ray Rentals: Sales hit record high

Third quarter rental revenue for Blu-ray was up 44.5% over the same period last year, which in turn increased the overall rental income by 10% for the third quarter.

The widespread distribution of Blu-ray titles into the primary rental channel is supporting the rapid adoption of the format by consumers, greater than what we saw on DVD according to Brad Hackley, Vice President of Rentrak.

The Digital Entertainment Group DEG is expected to release industry wide third quarter home entertainment results, including DVD and Blu-ray sales shortly.

I’ve just purchased a Blu-Ray Player for £210, wanted a decent one and in silver finish.

After seeing the quality in my local BlockBuster, I just had to get one, I waited nearly a year for the prices to come down to affordable levels.

I use video-on-demand and BT-Vision, but the quality of down-streaming and broadcast HD is no where near as good as Blu-Ray, my girlfriend and I watch many movies, so I wanted the best, more than happy with the quality, as it’s just superb!

The quality of on-demand HD is rubbish in comparison.
