With players such as Mike Lowell, David Ortiz and Jason Varitek being either at the end of their contract or near to the end of their contracts, Boston Red Sox fans are expecting some sort of change in the next year or more.
But according to usatoday.com, only one day after the Boston Red Sox team were elimated from the playoffs in an AL Division series, the Red Sox General Manager Theo Epstein, hinted that the change could well come sooner.

The core team could return for one more year maybe, but if it does it will be the last lap and change is definitely coming. When speaking about it on Monday, Epstein said that it could go in a number of different directions.
