‘Up’ breaks Box Office Records In UK

Up has topped the UK box office on its first weekend of release. The Pixar film’s £6.4 million box office haul puts it above Ice Age 3 as the highest animated opener of 2009.

Up is a 2009 American computer animated comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. The film premiered on May 29, 2009 in North America. The film was released in the United Kingdom on October 9th.

Up is director Pete Docter’s second feature-length film after Monsters, Inc., and features the voices of Edward Asner, Christopher Plummer, Bob Peterson, and Jordan Nagai. The film centers around a grumpy old man named Carl Fredricksen and an overeager Wilderness Explorer named Russell who flies to South America in a floating house suspended from helium balloons.
