After Leona Lewis Punched: Cancels visit to Germany

The 24-year-old British singer Leona Lewis has cancelled a visit to Germany, as she recovers from being punched in the head at a book signing for fans, as our recent post reported.

Leona had been due to fly out for a day long promotional trip, but pulled out in the aftermath of the incident. The former winner of X Factor, had been signing copies of her autobiography at Waterstone’s Piccadilly in London on Wednesday afternoon, for about 90 minutes, when a man in the queue suddenly punched out. She was left shaken, and bruised.

Police arrested a 29-year-old man at the scene. A spokesman for Lewis said: “Leona was due to go to Germany for promo but that has now been cancelled. Leona is obviously shocked after yesterday but she is ok.”

Lewis was taken to see a doctor as a precaution after being struck, but needed no further treatment. Rehearsals for her first major UK show are due to go ahead next week as planned. To read more on this story go to cambridge-news.co.uk.
