Captain Lou Albano: Praised by Cindy Lauper

Captain Lou Albano, died of natural causes on October 14th 2009, aged 76. Albano’s fame hit the heights when he appeared in Cindy Lauper’s 1983 Girls Just Want to Have Fun music video, he played the singer’s dad.

Cindy Lauper says that Albano took her up the music charts. Cindy said on Thursday that she was lucky to work with Albano, on her music videos in the 80s; she says it was great fun, too. Captain Lou Albano was probably one of the most famous figures in World Wrestling Federation in the 1980’s.

His career lasted 42-years; Albano guided 15 different tag teams and four singles competitors to championship gold. Albano also appeared in Hulk Hogan’s Rock ‘n’ Wrestling, 227, Miami Vice, Hey Dude, Wiseguys, Complex World and the 1987 wrestling movie Body Slam.
