Larry Birkhead: Too Many Drugs for Anna Nicole Smith

Photographer Larry Birkhead, the Father of Anna Nicole Smith’s daughter, said in court that he complained to the Doctor, because Anna took more medications than he has ever seen anyone take before.

Birkhead said “I was concerned that Anna was taking too many medications,” and he raised the issue during a visit to Dr. Sandeep Kapoor in mid-2005, about a minor ailment. Kapoor was Smith’s physician at the time, and is now charged with conspiring to provide Smith with controlled substances.

Prosecutor Renee Rose asked Birkhead “What did Dr. Kapoor say?” “He said, ‘I believe we have that under control now,’ and that’s all that he said,” replied Birkhead. Dr. Khristine Eroshevich Stern, and Kapoor have all pleaded not guilty to illegally provide controlled substances to Smith.

Prosecutor Rose wanted to show a video in court of Kapoor socializing with the ex-model at the gay pride parade. The video shows the doctor nuzzling and kissing Smith, Rose said. Judge Perry agreed with the defense, that it was irrelevant to the case and it was not shown to the court.
