Nike Women’s Marathon 2009 Results: Caitlin Smith Wins

The 2009 Nike Women’s Marathon took place in San Francisco yesterday and according to reports from examiner.com, there was over 20,000 women that took to the streets, to take part in the event and to raise $14 million, for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.

And it appears, that it was a Californian women by the name if Caitlin Smith, who finished the full marathon first, in a great time of 2:58:52. The half marathon was won by Carrie Dimoff of Portland, who finished her race in a time of 1:25:26.

Barb Mica, who completed the half marathon, said that she loved the race and said it was very hilly, but at the same time scenic. When the race was over, firefighters gave out small Tiffany and Co. boxes, that contained a silver necklace, that read “Run Like a Girl.”
