Mandela Foundation denies he wrote foreword in book

On the front cover of the new “Straight Speaking for Africa” book, which is by Republic of Congo President Denis Sassou-Nguesso, it says that Nelson Mandela wrote the foreword. But according to Associated Press, that is not the case.

Reports say that Nelson Mandela’s foundation, is denying that he ever wrote a foreword to the African leader’s new book. And in a recent statement that was released yesterday, they condemned it as “brazen abuse of Mr. Mandela’s name.”

The statement goes on to say, that the 91-year old anti-apartheid icon has neither read nor wrote the foreword to the book, “Straight Speaking for Africa.” There was no immediate response from the government on this matter Tuesday.
