The Green Bay Packers signed Green on Wednesday morning to strengthen their running back depth. DeShawn Wynn who has season-ending knee injury, took a set back was placed on the injured reserve.
That opened the door for Green, who was released by the Houston Texans in February, he is the second leading rusher in franchise history. They brought in Green and Dominic Rhodes for a workout Monday.
McCarthy said “He still has excellent in-line quickness; he really has the ability to drop his pads and run with forward lean and the things you always liked about his running style. He showed a little burst out there today.”
Knee injuries limited Green to 14 games in two seasons with Houston. He said “It’s just been a journey, from the time I left in March of 07 to now. It’s just been a good and bad experience, a lot of things learned. To read more on this story go to lacrossetribune.com.
