UFC 104 Results: Machida vs Shogun Video

Last night was UFC 104 and was treated to a number of exiting fights, but as always there are always fights that we think end with controversial results. For those who watched the Mauricio Shogun Rua vs. Lyoto Machida fights, then you will know what I mean.

The first round was close, both exchanging kicks to a number of areas of the body. The first round was close, but it is Rua who takes the first round. Round two is straight back into the action; Machida manages to block a head kick by Rua, but Rua then follows this up with a body kick. They both begin a long exchange of blows, but it is Rua who takes that round once again, 10-9.

Machida is not one to give up and managed to take round 3 but Rua makes up for that by taking round 4. Round 5 sees both fighters getting into a clinch, the ref has to separate the fighters, the round is finally awarded to Machida 10-9.

If the fight went by who won the most rounds then Rua should have won, but in what is considered a controversial decision, Lyoto Machida was still the UFC Light Heavyweight Champion winning 48-47. For full fight details, visit 411 Mania. Watch videos of the fight here
