Possible implications have arisen about Andre Agassi’s use of Crystal Meth back in 1997 as Times Online sits down to talk about the worlds former number 1 tennis player.
In a summary that I will post here, I will go over a few of the points that have been mentioned over Agassi’s drug taking scenario.
First of all, it is hard for the ATP to do anything about it, as it was such a long time ago (12 years). He would have got a two-year ban at worse, but also, he (Agassi) stated that he took it in 1997, a year when he slipped down to 141 in the world rankings.
The model professional took many by surprise with the admission, as he was such a figure that everyone looked to, to be like, to imitate, much like the way David Beckham is in football today.
Agassi shouldn’t have any of his tournament victories taken away from him, but it is hard to say whether or not it has tarnished his once squeaky clean image that everyone thought he had.
The book, titled Open: An Autobiography, is due out on Nov. 9, and you can read an excerpt from Andre Agassi in the forthcoming Sports Illustrated which is released this week.
