Yesterday saw the 2009 New York City Marathon take place and according to examiner.com, it was American Meb Keflezighi that was crowned the winner, making him the first American man to win since 1982.
On the women’s side it was Derartu Tulu that came in first, with Paula Radcliffe finishing in fourth place. Paula was seen to drop away from the pack in mile 22, which appeared to be because of a pain in her leg.

37-year old Tulu seemed to make her move in the final mile of Sunday’s marathon, edging out Russia’s Ludmila Petrova, who not only came in second place this year, but also finished second in last year’s race as well.
