Karate Kid Remake 2009: Jaden Smith stars as Kung Fu Kid

Fans of the original Karate Kid movie should have something to celebrate now, as it has been revealed that ‘Kung Fu Kid’ – a remake of the original film is well underway and is expected to release next Summer.
As reported from ReelEmpire, the film will star Jaden Smith (Will Smith’s Son) as the young pupil who will learn the ways of martial arts after he is bullied – following key plots from the original movie.
It has also been confirmed that movie legend Jackie Chan will take on the role of Mr Miyagi, played by the late Pat Morita.

Is Hollywood so barren of original ideas that they have to remake the Karate Kid? I’m so glad the writers went on strike. I mean it was obviously worth them to do that so they can recylce old ideas.
i’m glad to hearrhat the film is being remade it a classic! however as a karateka myself i have issue about the movie and its lack of knwledge to the title. karate is an okinawia (japanese) martial art not chinese. also jaden smith is far to young for the role.
Dont bother wiv the remake!
