Usain Bolt Face-to-Face with a cheetah

World record holder Usain Bolt nearly run for his life as he came face to face with an animal after his own profession as the fastest beast in the animal kingdom, a fully grown female cheetah named Sharon.

Usain, who broke the world records in the 100 meter and 200 metre dash was only convinced to have a photo shoot with Sharon, after athletics equipment tycoon Jochen Zeitz stood next to her and proved that she was harmless. The photo shoot was also accompanied by the Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Moments later, the fastest man in the world was cradling a three month old cheetah cub who had been abandoned by his mother, feeding him milk as he posed for the cameras at an animal orphanage in Nairobi. He then agreed to adopt the cheetah cub, and called it ‘Lightning Bolt’, paying $13,700 for the formal adoption, plus $3,000 a year in care fees which will go to the Kenya Wildlife Service.
