The Ultimate Fighter 10 Episode 8: Recap of Jones vs. Wessel

We have a recap of Ultimate Fighter 10 for you now, which involves the heavyweights of Marcus Jones and Mike Wessel in the final of the first round bouts. We will start by displaying some stats before we get to the nitty-gritty.

Jones, a former NFL defensive end who spent most of his career with the Tampa Bay Buccanneers who reside at the bottom of the NFL Power Rankings, holds a record of 4-2 and towers above his opponent at 6ft 6”. He trains with Gracie Tampa.

Wessel, although more experienced than Jones is holding a 8-2 record, 4 fights more than Jones. Wessel also appeared at UFC 92 against Antoni Hardonk, but lost via TKO.

The fight started with Wessel taking the early advantage, being aggressive is how he wanted to play this fight, and when he missed a Haymaker, and the pair clinched shortly after, Jones took advantage of the situation by reversing a trip takedown attempt.

An armbar by Jones then forced the more experienced Wessle into submission mode, in a fight that lasted just less than 50 seconds. Another victory to chalk up on the Jones chalkboard. It was first thought that Wessle had broken his arm during the struggle, which then just turned out to be a misconception.

In other UFC news, it is thought that Kimbo Slice may return to the competition, as Matt Mitrione has been taken ill.

Would you like to see Kimbo make a return?
