Bella Bayliss the Aberdeenshire athlete is going for her sixth win in an amzing eight year stretch in this weekend’s Ironman Florida triathlon at Panama City.
Bayliss failed to finish last month’s Ironman world championships in Hawaii and is hoping to bounce back by tackling her favourite American race. Bayliss said: “My husband Stephen and I came straight to Panama City from Hawaii and things have been going well. We are very happy here as it has everything we need for training.”
However Bayliss faces some tough opposition, including Germany’s Nina Kraft and American Heather Gollnick. Ironman features a 2.4-mile open water swim followed by 112 miles of cycling and a 26.2-mile marathon run. Baylisss has taken the Ironman Lanzarote title twice and UK title three times.
