Wow-where were the referees when her bad behavior began? The five incidents that were shown were all cardable infractions-a couple were definate red cards. The refs should have never let her get that out of hand. As for her comment that her emotions got the best of her-she’s not a first time offender. Her actions reek of long time behavior!

A comment meant for the other article, but your anti-spam feature will not load a word for me:
Actually what you two fail to see based on the video, but for those of us who saw the whole game did, are 2 red card offenses committed by BYU players towards the UNM goalie. There is an official who sits above the field who has commented that the two BYU forwards, who fouled the UNM goalie, should have been red carded and thus thrown out of the game. Lambert’s subsequent actions would also have been red carded. I’m assuming you two have never played sports, but any sport that has a goalie, it is the defenders job to protect that goalie. In hockey for instance if a forward were to hit a goalie in any way shape or form that goalies defenders would punish them with a hard hit sometimes resulting in a fight. While I don’t condone Lambert’s actions she was living up to this same philosophy. Frankly, every year male sports have fights in them that endanger the lives of the people they are playing with, I would be willing to bet you two don’t protest online about those incidents though.

I say kudos to Lambert. BYU decided they wanted to play jungle soccer so Lambert obliged them. Why aren’t the elbows and the digging into Lambert’s short towards her crotch raising objections. I was shocked to see “ponytail” attempting to dig her fingers up into Lambert’s shorts. What was that about?!?! Seems quite evident that the BYU girls decided to serve it up like the boys and got a hot plate sent back to them. I hope those that make the decisions regarding Lambert open their eyes and senses and see that she was only defending herself.

I love this chick. She is the best thing that ever happened to this sport (other than short shorts) thank you elizabeth i LOVE YOU. MMMMMMmmm

What a complete POS Elizabeth Lambert is. That sociopath has no moral compass what so ever. Not her first time obvious to all who watched and I suspect she is only showing remorse because she got caught. I for one would kick her cheap shot azz if I had the luck to run into her on the streets. Her parents must be sooooooooooo proud of what they spawned.

  6. John says:

TX – Great unfounded statements, and you’re calling her a POS then saying that you would kick her ass if you saw her on the street…. easy to be so tough posting in anonymity on the internet.

  7. Michelle says:

You are obviously a UNM fan and not a fan of “the Beautiful Game” If the offenses by the forwards were as bad as you say, they would have also ended up on the internet. I do not condone this kind of play by any athlete, male or female. My son is a center back and former goalie and does not need to resort to such cheap play to protect his goalie. The general consenses at the referee re-certification that we took this weekend was that the referees let this game get completely out of control and should also be sanctioned. Oh yeah, this game has been a part of my life for the last 30 years as a player and referee for every level from rec to high level travel. My kids have been playing for the last 15 years, refereeing for the last 7. You don’t have to be a bully to be a good defender and retaliation should not be a part of any game.

  8. Lin McKay says:

Lambert is a poor excuse for a college athlete. She is a very poor role model for young girls wanting to explore soccer as a team sport. I hope the university makes the suspension permanent and pull Lambert’s scholarship. She should NOT be able to play soccer on U.S. soil. Period.

  9. Chico says:

I like her :D payback with interest..

Most actions were provocated… the girl where she pulled the hair and threw to the ground was pulling her shorts up.. the girl she elbowed elbowed her first… the other actions I can’t see the context off and some are just some hard tackles, that happen everywhere…

  10. Tom says:

The excuse that somebody did something to you is the standard victim excuse of the bully. Hitler used it all the time. Everyone uses it all the time. If it was on video it would be on Youtube too. The part where Lambert purposely kicked the ball into the face of a player who was already down on the ground should have got Lambert arrested in a civil society. She needed some time with the real gang bangers in jail. I doubt they’d accept her thin pretty princess face there in a way she’d tell her kids about.

  11. kim golden says:

lambert should be thrown out of school..

  12. Steel says:

A couple things that went on were obviously unsportsman-like; but, she is provoked several times. When she kicked the ball into that girls face, however, it looked, to me, like she was trying to clear the ball. That is her job. The fact that the girl’s head was right there was unfortunate. I once watched my wife plaster two different women clearing back-to-back (very poor) throw ins by the opposing team. Unfortunately, neither girl finished the game, but it did provide for some level of entertainment in an otherwise boring match.

The key to good defense is physical play and effort when playing against a well matched team in a competitive league. It is hard to be more competitive than playoff college soccer.

that ritten little gringo girl shuold try that in colombian or mexico…….see where she ends up!! americans are spoil rotten…..

  14. Mrbulldog30 says:

I am freaked out at the amount of hate this 1 play that just happend to be recorded on video has been brought on this young girl. #1 she is a junior player which means she has to prove herself worthy of playing for the team and the pressure put on the younger players to make the team is harder than most people outside the game don’t understand. #2 People on this blog say if she was on the street and done this she would have been put in jail’ but what about the girl trying to finger her before the tug on the pony? no one will comment on that. What if that girl had of got inside her shorts like it looked like she was trying to do and penitrated her vergina and then in retaliation she pulled her to the ground people would have commended her on fighting back. #3 Just because it is a girl we look at the game different. #4 Before you all make comments that are tough and hatefull to this young girl , if she was your daughter you would have said to her you stepped over the line but I’m glad you stoped that other girl from sexually assaulting her. And to you TX it’s funny how tough you guy’s are when it’s a girl and behind your computer, me I would love to see how you would be when face to face with the people you call POS. It’s a good thing you have a computer to hide behind because Lambert would probably kick you POS a… I saw a girl respond to an assault on her and just because the other girl went down like she had been shot also shows how some players will do anything to goat the players on the other team into taking a foul, and making it look like she is a victim when in fact she made the first move with her hand down at Lambert’s croch. But that little tug on her hair makes some people crucify Lambert. Watch the whole play and you will see she was retaliating.

  15. Sasquatch says:

Elizabeth Lambert should have been thrown out of the game long before multiple incidents occurred. She is $#%@ lucky she didn’t permanently disable one of the players with her vicious, stupid behavior. Her behavior was criminal, and the referees who condoned it should be held accountable as well. Despite what the opposing players may have done to her, we are all adults and responsible for our own actions. No one made her act like this. And no one made her act like this at numerous, separate times during the game. She chose to act with shocking violence again and again.
I’m glad she was kicked off the team. It was the only suitable course of action. Her written apology was hollow and seemed ridiculous under the circumstances.
I am sure her disturbing behavior we saw on the field is but one small aspect of her life. I hope she is able to get some meaningful counseling before her abusive nature affects other hapless victims around her.
