Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Review Roundup

With the eagerly anticipated release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 tomorrow, reviews have started surfacing around the interweb to give us more of an insight into whether we should buy it or not.

No matter what the reviews say, we know most of you are going to buy it anyway. But it doesn’t hurt to get a little write-up to see what the review experts really think on this War FPS.

The UK’s Telegraph and Guardian have released reviews which state that “Modern Warfare 2 crosses into the must-have category of video games effortlessly” (Telegraph) and “You won’t find a more polished, intelligent FPS this year” (Guardian).

IGN was at the center of a little controversy before the weekend, in which a user found a review posted by IGN, who gave the release a 9.5/10 rating and posted it on the PlayStation forums. It was later found to be counterfeit. They have their REAL review here.

In more shocking news, a department store in North America has apparently been selling the game early to customers, which has angered Activision. That story can be read here.

The Telegraph’s full review is here, while the Guardians can be found here.

Infinity ward have removed deicated server support and replaced it with a peer to peer system called IWnet so expect to lag like all peer to peer games do and forget clan leagues for this game IWnet is not balanced for clans, no modding support so a whole community of modders will be working on other games for next year, max players in multyplayer = 18 thats 9 for each side sorry but I will stick to CoD2 and CoD4 with 50 and 60 + players in a game, ten pounds extra for a console port which this game clearly is as the lean function has not been put in for the PC version so why an extra ten pounds ?,
