According to reports from sportsillustrated.cnn.com, the Kansas City Chiefs have finally decided to release controversial running back Larry Johnson from their team. Johnson was reportedly due back from a two week suspension on Monday.
Johnson apparently caused the Kansas City Chiefs team to run out of patience, after his recent brush with controversy. As mentioned in a previous post, Johnson insulted fans, questioned Coach Todd Haley’s credentials and used a gay slur.

The former Chiefs running back then made it worse for himself, by repeating the gay slur to reporters the next day. Johnson, who only needed 75 yards to break the team’s career rushing mark, was a first round draft pick from Penn State in 2003.
