Modern Warfare 2 now on sale: Your Verdict

It looks like the hugely anticipated video game “Modern Warfare 2,” apparently went on sale in North America this past weekend, despite the fact that the game has an official release date of November 10th, which is tomorrow.

According to computerandvideogames.com, retailer Gamestop purposely broke the November 10th street date and started selling it at the weekend instead. In a statement, the retailer said that they were selling reserved copies.

They went on to say that their decision followed many conversations with Activision, and was in an effort to protect their customer base. But Activision has said that they didn’t give Gamestop permission to break the street date.

    In my opinion if Gamestop broke the official release date than it should be held accountable and a fine should be inposed. All of its stores that sold there reserved copies in a “effort to protect their customer base” from what?
    standing in a line to pick up there copy like the rest of us.
    Hey I spent 480.00 on that box pack (game and limited ecition Xbox)I would have loved to had it LAST WEEK but no I asked my store about seeing my New York Friends playing the game and was told that some store released early , so I asked if I could have mine, he laughed and said they were going to respect Activision with the offical release even though they were told if they want to they could sell to a select few, it was a store managers choice! So maybe the stores that broke the release date should fire the store managers and Gamestop should have to pay a fine and close the stores that did there little pre-official release for there lack of respect of Activision.
    You cant blame the gamers for buying it early Hell I would have….
