According to reports from people.com, Shaquille O’Neal’s wife Shaunie has recently filed for a legal separation from the 37-year old NBA star. In the papers that were said to have been filed Monday, Shaunie cited irreconcilable differences as the reason.
The couple have been married for seven years and have four minor children together. Shaunie is seeking sole custody of their children, who are aged 3 to 9, with visitation for Shaquille O’Neal. Shaunie said she will be seeking a divorce eventually.
This is the second split for the pair now. Shaquille filed for a divorce back in 2007 in Miami-Dade County in Florida, but the couple later worked out their differences and reconciled. Reps for both Shaq and Shaunie were unavailable for comment.
