Oprah Winfrey Interview: Chimp victim (Charla Nash) Doesn’t Recall Attack

Charla Nash, who is the woman that was attacked by Travis the Chimp back on February 16th of this year, is due to make an appearance on tonight’s episode of the “Oprah Winfrey Show.” And according to rightcelebrity.com, Charla doesn’t recall the attack.

That terrible incident left her blinded, with horrific facial lacerations. The 210 pound chimpanzee, which apparently belonged to a friend of hers Sandy Herold, ripped off Charla Nash’s nose and hands and caused other significant damage to her face.

While Charla was in the hospital, she battled for her life. A team of specialists worked around the clock to try and save her and piece together what they could of her extremities. But apparently, she has no memory of the attack at all, only of waking in the hospital.

I sincerely hope the best for Charla Nash. She is such a beautiful woman (from the picture I saw of her before the attack). Her strength for enduring and persuing this obstacle should be an inspiration for all people dealing with their own troubles. Charla is exactly right in the fact that these type of exotic animals, right down to the parrots they commonly sell in pet stores should not be allowed. I myself was attacked by a parrot that I was looking to buy at a pet store. Though I had no major damage other than some lacerations to my arm that I was holdin the animal with, it was frightening and solidified my belief that these exotic pets are in fact not pets. They are unpredictable and should not be allowed to be sold to the general population permit or not. They are wild animals and are never to be pets or to be trusted around untrained specialists such as zoo-keepers or veterinarians. I feel for Charla and also admire her for how she is moving on. The owner of the chimp needs to be held accountable and pay for the damage she has caused. The animal having to be treated with Xanax should have been a warning sign for the owner as for the many outbursts that the animal had in the past. He should have been sent to one of the many rescues for these types of animals so that he could have proper care and be handled by professionals. Maybe if the owner would have taken this action the animals life would not have had to be ended. I have utter disrespect for the owner and the damage that she has caused to Charla, Charla’s family, and the animal himself. She has forever altered this womans life and should be held fully accountable for her stupidity.
