Sir Michael Caine thinks National Service will help cut violent crime in the Uk

76-year-old Sir Michael Caine has suggested that the government should reintroduce national service. Caine was knighted in 2000 by Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of his contribution to cinema.

Sir Michael, is currently promoting his new film Harry Brown, argued that a compulsory six months in the army would help deal with the violent crime that is going on in the UK.The star told the BBC “It would create a sense of belonging rather than a sense of violence, “I’m just saying put them in the army for six months.”

He went on to say “There should be a great plan to re-educate these youngsters. It’s such a waste they all feel society has let them down.” Harry Brown is an upcoming British crime thriller film directed by Daniel Barber it tells the story of a vigilante who takes revenge on young thugs who kill his friend.

  1. i think sir michael caine is quite right in wanting to bring national service back but i think year would be better. i would back sir michael 100%
