Fans of the hit TV show the Apprentice, will have to wait until the start of the summer next year for the new series, because of Sir Alan Sugar’s role as Gordon Brown’s enterprise Star.
The Apprentice, which usually starts in March, has been moved to June to avoid any clash with the general election. Since Sir Alan new role as adviser to the government, it has put pressure on the BBC’s political impartiality. The good news for the show, is that it will only be up against Big Brother from channel 4.
An insider to the Apprentice said: “We’re disappointed. March is a good time for us because it’s the main reality show then. Bosses are worried fewer people will tune in over summer.” The last series won a audience of 10.4million. The rescheduling will also hit new spin off Junior Apprentice.
Lord Sugar has already admitted he considered quitting his Government job. To read more on this story go to thesun.co.uk. Do you think it puts pressure on BBC’s political impartiality? Let us know your thoughts.
