Mel Gibson talks about almost losing Braveheart

Actor Mel Gibson has spoken out recently, about how he almost gave up his career-defining role as William Wallace, in the smash hit movie “Braveheart” all those years ago. And according to heraldsun.com.au, it was because he thought he was too old at the time.

Gibson, who is now 53, says that at the time he was trying to get someone else to be in “Braveheart,” which is the movie that made him the Hollywood star he is today and is not only celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, but also the blu-ray release as well.

The actor, who has just become a dad for the eighth time recently, says that the producers said he had to be in it, so despite the fact that he thought he was too old for the role as William Wallace, he jumped into it anyway. And it was definitely worth him doing it as well.
