Randy Couture’s controversial win at UFC 105

As a lot of you will know, the UFC 105 event took place in Manchester, England last night and the headlining fight was between Randy Couture and Brandon Vera. And it appears that the result of this fight have got a few people talking.

And one person in particular is Brandon Vera himself, who according to thesun.co.uk, was left fuming last night after the judges rewarded Randy Couture with a controversial victory over his 31-year old opponent and ending his losing streak.

This result is sure to raise questions, about the standard of judging in mixed martial arts fights. After the fight, Vera admitted that he was left shocked at the result, saying that he gave it to Randy as best as he could and thought he had won.

Vera showed his intentions quite early on in the fight, landing a high kick and a two-punch combination. But Couture scored a takedown towards the end of the first round, then landed two knees to finish the round strongly.

Another high kick from Vera rocked Couture later on and then Vera dropped his opponent with a vicious knee and a few punches. But the third round saw Couture come back with some very solid punches and clinch against the fence.
