Church of Scientology losing celebrities

The Church of Scientology, who has members such as Tom Cruise and John Travolta, appears to be under fire at the moment. And the reason for this is all the negative press that it has been having, as well as other factors.

Take the fraud conviction for example. According to specials.msn.com, a Paris court has recently convicted the church’s French wing of fraud, after two ex-members alleged pressure to buy vitamins and treatments.

Oh and we have to mention “Crash” director Paul Haggis, who recently quit Scientology after 35 years of being a member. Paul wrote a long resignation letter to the people high up, citing their anti-gay-marriage stance.

And there have been a few rumors lately, which have suggested “Grease” actor John Travolta was intending on leaving the Church of Scientology as well. But John has reportedly dismissed the rumors and said they’re not true.

The Scientology Cult was very good about keeping their dirty secrets covered up.

But L. Ron Hubbard never anticipated the internet and the free flow of information. Hubbard was a science fiction writer. He could imagine space aliens (Xenu) and space ships, but he couldn’t foresee a time when Scientology victims would be able to speak out and be heard.

Pretty ambiguous as far as I can see; one minor celebrity is mentioned, and John Travolta has confirmed he is not leaving…….what about all of those who ARE joining? Fraud in France? That was because natural nutritional products can not be inferred to help someone in France, which is of course preposterous. What victims are we talking about? There are a handful of people who are on the internet complaining…..if Scientology was so bad, why not hundreds of real court cases with real victims? Because Scientology really helps people, that’s why. Scientology deals in areas that Big Pharma and the Psychs don’t like; actually helping people, unlike the latter who like reoccurring revenue of ‘customers’ who never get cured (ever!) and keep their pockets full. That is the truth of the matter…..you can believe what you want!

I have to agree with Steve, I think there is so much focus on the little news, one who had a bad experience while thousands of others who enjoy being a Scientologist. It’s like looking at the few people who are part of Catholic churches whom had bad experience but placing the the whole church as part of the problem instead of the individuals.

At the end of the day many of people love being part of Scientology.

“Fraud in France?” -love it. Yes, the CoS committed fraud in France just as they continue to around the world. It has nothing to do with nutritional products it’s probably more concerned with ruining peoples lives by coercing them into buying into perhaps THE most illogical tosh to be spouted in over two millenia.

There are a lot more than a handful complaining on the internet and the fact that the majority do it anonymously is worrying. Alarm bells are ringing folks… What makes it more worrying is that in fact, the CoS has no where near 8 million members it has less than 30000. Now… why is there such a fuss about such a small religion? Because the stuff going on there is crazy (quite literally).

As for their “pioneering advice” on medicine, I still don’t understand what qualifies the CoS to make such self-assured claims? Something written by a SciFci author in the late 60s… riiiiight, okay.

“unlike the latter who like reoccurring revenue of ‘customers’ who never get cured (ever!) and keep their pockets full.”

That’s what your cult does, Steve. How many hours of $150/hour auditing do I need before I become
“more able” or one of those vague generalities that Scientology uses to describe it’s benefits with?
People pay $300,000 to find out about Xenu, is that really worthwhile?

  • The Scientologist

One should also mention the bankers who are also involved in the attacks against Scientology. These people own the media, hence the intense media scaremongering of Scientology over the last few years. They really are getting desperate, and digging an even deeper hole for themselves as people walk into Scientology churches and find out for themselves what it’s about. I was told in school not to trust the media, a worthy piece of advice I followed, and finally this attitude in society is catching on.
