Edward Woodward Has Died: RIP

British born actor Edward Woodward, who starred in TV series such as “Callan” and “The Equalizer,” as well as starring in the movie “The Wicker Man,” sadly passed away in hospital earlier today, at the age of 79.

According to bloomberg.com, Edward’s agent Janet Glass said that the actor, whose career spanned almost seven decades, had suffered with several illnesses over the years including pneumonia and prostate cancer.

Woodward not only appeared in television and film, but was also a veteran of the stage, including Shakespeare productions. He was also said to have recorded albums of music, poetry and audio book as well.

Edward, who was born in Croydon but lived in Cornwall, is survived by his second wife Dotrice and his four children. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all his family and I’m sure I can speak for everybody when I say he will be greatly missed.
