The new Roland Emmerich movie “2012,” has not only proved to be a hit in the US, but it’s also proved to be a huge success in the UK as well. According to news.bbc.co.uk, the John Cusack disaster movie went right to the top of the UK box office chart.
Just in its opening weekend, the “2012” Mayan-inspired movie, which sees a series of astrological and geological disasters befall Earth in the year 2012, managed to rake in £6.48 million. Disney’s “A Christmas Carol” was knocked down to second place.

Michael Caine’s new movie “Harry Brown,” debuted at number three in the UK charts, while Disney Pixar’s “Up” slipped down to number four. And George Clooney’s “The Men Who Stare At Goats” movie dropped one place, down to the number five spot.
