Janet Jackson’s interview with Robin Roberts on ABC

Despite the fact that Michael Jackson was eight years older than his sister Janet, it didn’t stop them from being the closest of all the siblings. And this is one of the things that 43-year old Janet Jackson spoke about, in her recent interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts.

Speaking out for the first time since her brother Michael’s death, Janet sat an exclusive interview with Robin Roberts, on the prime time weekly show “In the Spotlight.” The last time Janet said that she saw Michael alive, was a few days before her birthday.

In the interview, Robin asked Janet about the day that she found out about Michael’s death. Janet said that she was at her house in New York, and she said she called everyone, including LaToya, Tito and her mother Katherine, but she didn’t know the severity of it all.

Robin then asked Janet if she was aware of Michael’s drug use. Janet then explained that not only her but her entire family knew of the situation. She then went on to say that they did try to intervene, but they weren’t successful, as Michael needed to take control.

Very sad. You could just see the grief deeply etched in her eyes.

The question is why was Michael ‘using?’ How would any of us fare if we had to endure what Michael did, I wonder? I’m a mess if I miss a deadline at work or my computer plays up? When Michael did try to seek professional help – from Rabbi Shmuley for instance, Shmuley abandoned Michael when he was charged in 2003. We saw many of these so-called friends emerge days after Michael died, each selling their

To this day I haven’t gotten over his (MJ) death and really don’t know how long its going to take for me to heal. On Michael passing his music was so much alive in my home. My four year old son will rush home to go on line to look at his videos and listen to his music and yes even try the dance moves. He is missed and I still cry very often. Love you Big Brother
