New Moon looks as though it will brake all records when figures like this seem to be flying about. With the release last night at 12:01am, millions of cinema goers piled into theatres to watch the latest instalment in the Twilight Saga, New Moon.
It has already broken midnight sales records, and is widely expected to beat off Summitts other films The Dark Knight, and Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Summitt even re-released the original film ‘Twilight’ last night to cash in, which earned a cool $1.3 million.
The Dark Knight and The Harry Potter film both earned between $23 and $24 million in their midnight screenings, but when a film is selling 10+ tickets a second, you know that it will overtake those numbers anyday!

That’s very good that it’s gonna beat the midnight showing. Is it going to beat the first day record? Or the first 3-day record? or the continuous daily and weekly records set by Dark Knight? Nope, I don’t think so =) So yeah, this movie looks like it might do alright, but that momentum is gonna fade fast. Dark Knight kept it strong, because it was that much better =D
