Paulo Thiago vs. Jacob Volkmann: UFC 106 Results

If you are a mixed martial arts fan, then you probably would have known that the UFC 106: Ortiz vs. Griffin 2 event took place last night. And if you watched it, then you would know that one of the main card fights was Paulo Thiago versus Jacob Volkmann.

Both fighters were obviously ready to take each other on, as they both came out pawing at each other. Paulo managed to take down Jacob first, but Jacob was able to get back up and reverse the position. Both men then get up and lock up against the cage.

Thiago then manages to take Jacob down again and got a full mount. But again, Jacob was able to get to his feet. Thiago then landed a left hook and a straight right on Jacob, knocking him down just as the bell went for the end of round 1. Then it was onto round 2.

And it looked like Thiago was dominating the second round as well, when he came out and landed some big strikes on Volkmann. At one stage Jacob was able to take Thiago down, only to then have Thiago reverse it and get into the mount position.

Finally, it was onto round three and Thiago was able to connect with Jacob with a big right hand, which knocked him down. Jacob managed to reverse it but then loses position and Thiago gained control. Paulo Thiago is then announced the winner.
