U2 to appear at the Glastonbury festival

It was confirmed today that U2 will headline next year’s Glastonbury festival; they have been set for the Pyramid stage’s top spot on Friday 26 June. It will be U2’s first ever appearance at the festival.
Michael Eavis the Organiser has been promising something special for Glastonbury’s 40th anniversary, and it seems he has certainly done that. Eavis said “The 26-year-old rumour has finally come true, at last the biggest band in the world are going to play the best festival in the world! Nothing could be better for our 40th anniversary party. And there are even more surprises in the pipeline.”
Eavis and the Organisers have been trying to get U2 for years to play the festival he went on to say “I’m sure they will pull out all the stops to make next year’s Glastonbury the most memorable ever.”
